Ora “Ogie” William Ogden, Jr., 82 years of age, of Bainbridge, Ohio passed away Sunday, October 5, 2025, at his home surrounded by family.
Ogie was known for his giving nature; he knew no stranger and would help anyone. He was a truck driver for 31 years and a Teamster for 40 years. Ogie was also an Army veteran. He was dearly loved by his family and friends. Most of all Ogie was known for the compassion and love he had for his wife of 37 years, children, grandkids and great grandkids.
Ogie was born, Sunday, November 1, 1942, in Jamestown, Ohio, the son of the late Ora William and Catherine Opal (Applegate) Ogden, Sr. In addition to his parents Ogie was preceded in death by his brother Robert Ogden and daughter Tish Penwell.
Ogie is survived by his wife Margaret Louise (Honaker) Ogden; sisters Catherine Fern Combs and Jeanie Ingold; brother Carl (Robin) Ogden; sons, John Ogden and Mike (Jennifer) Ogden; daughters Carrie (Chris) Ayers, Erika Harris and Jen (David) Flanagan; grandchildren Johnathan, Joshua, Mikeal, Alyssa, Brett, Kiara, Kameron, Ronnie, Mike, Justin, Keirsten, and Heather; 12 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Smith-Moore-Ebright Funeral Home of Bainbridge with Troy Villars officiating and following the service Ogie will be laid to rest in the Bainbridge Cemetery where military honors will be held by the Ross County Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11 am – 1 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
