Orlando Archunde, 70, a lifelong resident of San Rafael NM. His battle with cancer in recent years showed his courage in facing lifes challenges with a smile. Despite the pain, Orlando came out a hero and stayed strong to the end. Orlando passed April 3, 2022 with is loving wife Alrene by his side.
He will be remembered for his sense of humor, his love of family, his willingness to help everyone and of course his love for the horseraces.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Darlene, his son Patrick Martinez of Las Vegas, NV, his daughter Peggy Martinez of Las Vegas, NV, Isabel Baca + husband Michael of Ogden, Utah, his mother Edith Archunde of San Rafael, NM, Helen Martinez + husband Robert of Grants, brothers Henry Archunde of Snowflake, AZ, Denny Archunde + wife Esperanza of San Manuel, AZ. Brother in laws, Robert Martinez + wife Theresa of Grants, NM, Antonio Martinez + wife Eileen of Menefee, CA, Leroy Martinez + wife Antoinet of Grants, NM, Rick Martinez of Milan, NM, his sister in law Orrie Gonzales + partner Eddie of Grants, NM.
He is also survived by his grandchilden Austin Garcia, Alicia Garcia, Orlando Archunde lll, Michael Baca Jr., Christopher Baca, Erica Martinez, Briana Martinez, great-grandchildren Dominic, Izaac, Jezubel, Izaiah, Michael, Cody, Brielle, Seth, Enrique, and Arianna. His goddaughters Joanna Martinez, Roxanna Martinez, Tina Apodaca, Lizette Archunde.
He had numerous nephews and nieces who he loved very much.
Graveyard services, April 13, 2022 at 2:00pm at the San Rafael cemetary.
