In the early morning of April 25, 2023 Mr. Orlando Stephens departed this earthly life peacefully at the age of 45, after a short illness. He was a patient at UNC Health Southeastern in Lumberton, North Carolina. Orlando was born on September 6, 1977 to Alice Ruth Thomas Stephens and to the late Jimmy Palmer Stephens Sr. Orlando had a great sense of humor and would lighten up any room he entered. He was a loving son, father, brother and friend.
He is proceeded in death by his father Jimmy P. Stephens SR., grandfathers J.K. Thomas and James Palmer Stephens, and his grandmother Nora Stephens.
He leaves to cherish precious memories of his time spent here; his wife Brenda Stephens; his mother Alice Ruth Stephens and his grandmother Jessie Mae Thomas all of Lumberton, NC; one son Orlando Stephens Jr of Lumberton, NC and daughters Alanis Stephens Barnett (Shaquille) of Miami, Florida, and Nahia Middleton of Washington, North Carolina; one sister, Nakisha Stephens Williams (James) of Orrum, North Carolina and one brother Jimmy Stephens Jr (Dakea) of Lumberton, North Carolina. Aunts; Deloris Bethune (Keith), Geneva Bullard (Vonnie), Shirley Mae Thomas all of Lumberton, NC,, Abbie McGill of Fairmont, NC, Patricia Thompson (Jackie) of Maryland. Nephews Fredrick, Issac, Jaheem, Jimmy II, Destyn Stephens all of Lumberton, NC, J'vonni and Eli Stephens of Nebraska. Neices, Jimmia, (Adrian), Jimminia, Jimnnasia, Angel, Skye, all of Lumberton, NC. A very special friend that he loved like a brother Robert "Rob" Coxum and Ms. Charlotte of Lumberton, NC Two special cousins Renata Jackson and Latonya Thomas and a host of other relatives and friends who he loved dearly.
The family is receiving friends at the home of his aunt on Starlight Drive in Lumberton, North Carolina.
