Orpha Rae Kirk

On January 10, 2026, our beloved ORPHA RAE MULLINS KIRK, of Ferrellsburg, WV entered into eternal rest at her home surrounded by her loving family, at the age of 95.
She was born in Ferrellsburg, WV on February 24, 1930, she was the daughter of the late John "Doc" & Martha Farley Mullins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twelve siblings, her husband of 50 years, Ray Kirk, eldest daughter, Patricia Kirk McCann, grandsons, Patrick Kirk and Adam Vance, granddaughter, Natalie Kirk and great grandson, Connor Jessie.
Orpha made a lasting impression on everyone that had the pleasure of meeting her. She was the picture of unconditional love and absolute selflessness, raising not only her children but her daughter Patty's three children, Eric, Jenny and Richie, following her death. She was a caregiver to the core, caring for several family members throughout her life. Orpha was funny and fearless, kind and loving to everyone she encountered, and a true original in the very best way. She instilled in us a love for one another, life and family, as well as the importance of kindness and laughter.
Orpha is survived by her children, Harry (Phyllis) Kirk, Gwenn Kirk and Rachel Beth (David) Runyon, grandchildren, Eric (Jackie) McCann, Jenny McCann-Haddox (Luke), Richie (Michelle "Shelly") McCann, Brandon (Cari) Kirk, Nathan (Amanda) Kirk, Philip Kirk, Brad (Shana) Vance, Emily (Chris) Turner, Nancy (Daniel) Jessie, Sara Beth Whitt (Mike), many, many great-grandchildren, one much anticipated great-granddaughter, and great - great - grandchildren, as well as countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 17, 2026 at Freeman Funeral Home with Gary Topping officiating. Burial will follow at the Williams - Kirk Cemetery at Harts, WV.
Visitation on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Orpha's beloved grandsons.
