Dear neighbors, dear Bakemans, dear lifelong friends, Lynne, Mark James, Julia, I mark with sadness Bud's passing at the same time that I celebrate his long life, living in his own home, being himself, and connected to all of you. There's so many years, so much neighborhood history to remember. Backyard birthday parties, dog walks, borrowed tools, Wendy's (complaining the whole time) lawn mowing.....constant, trustworthy. I miss you, Mr. Bakeman!

Bud was our next door neighbor on Stratford Street. Even though we only knew him briefly, he was warm and friendly. He would bring us a sprig of holly during Christmas and his conversation was always engaging. We will miss him dearly. Our hearts go out to his family.

Bud always enjoyed coming out to our farm and visiting with our Tennessee Walking Horses. Here is a picture is from his first visit, standing with Sara and our mottled gray horse Lightnin' who was named for the white streak on his flank.
When Bud first walked into the barn, he was standing in a walkway between two horse stalls. He felt his straw hat starting to wiggle back and forth, and discovered that Lightnin' was checking it out to decide if it could be his lunch.
Well, Bud took evasive action, and Lightnin' desisted, probably figuring out that dry, processed straw was gastronomically inferior to good hay or pasture grass. We all got quite a chuckle out of this encounter.
Bud, many of us spent a lot of good years together at GE and afterwards. You are in our hearts and minds, and in our thoughts. And we will truly miss you.

Condolences to Bud's sons and daughters, and to his grandchildren. I recall a lovely evening in Bud and Marian's home in Syracuse, when Delia was a tiny baby. Fond memories. -- Beti Gunter and Mike Smith

Dear Bakeman Family,
My family is saddened to learn of Bud's passing. He and Marian were dear friends for many years when my family lived in Syracuse, and he and I sang in the Euclid Methodist Choir together. He was a good man. Keeping all of you in our thoughts and prayers. Diane, Mike, and Ben Spitz
