Osborne “Oz” Morgan, born January 27, 1944, in South Bend, Indiana, passed away on June 11, 2025, surrounded by his family at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis.
Before meeting the love of his life, Rosann (Samaras) Morgan, whom he married on June 26, 1987, Oz lived and traveled across South and Central America working in international banking. He spoke fluent Spanish and had a special place in his heart for the culture, food, and friendships he encountered there.
He and Rosann shared a legacy of 38 years of marriage. Oz was a loving husband, father and grandfather who adored his children and grandchildren.
Somewhere between Atticus Finch and the Most Interesting Man in the World, Oz’s warmth, wit, and sense of adventure touched the lives of anyone lucky enough to know him.
After graduating from Indiana State University, Oz taught speech and English at Kokomo High School for four years before working at AFNB in Indianapolis for another 17—earning his MBA from Butler University along the way. He went on to serve as regional president of Star Financial Bank for 21 years until his retirement. At the time of his passing, Oz was currently CFO at State Safety & Compliance.
Oz also served as chair of St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital and sat on several boards, including the Anderson Center for the Arts, Assurance Health, and the executive committee of the Flagship Enterprise Center.
He loved anything that had to do with sailboats, scuba diving, or travel—most recently going to Costa Rica with his son, Sam.
A lover of all things music, you’d rarely find him without a guitar or ukulele in hand, plucking out some new chord pattern or working on lyrics to a song commemorating any number of his friends or families latest accomplishments (yes, this was one of his favorite things to do for people).
Oz is survived by his wife, Rosanna Morgan; his children, Ingrid Stadler, Andy Moore, and Sam Morgan; his brother, Bob Morgan; his son-in-law, Barry Stadler; and his grandchildren, Jake, Julia, and Genevieve Stadler.
