Funeral service for Oscar “Harold” Calvin, age 77, of Manitou, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Orr Gray Gish Chapel with Rev. Les Banks officiating.

Mr. Calvin passed away Saturday, July 6, 2024, at Manitou, Oklahoma.

Burial will be in the Frederick Memorial Cemetery.

He was born October 8, 1946, in rural Okfuskee, Oklahoma, to Frank and Ruby (Eslick) Calvin. His family moved to Frederick at an early age. He attended Frederick schools. He entered the United States Army and served proudly and was honorably discharged on December 11, 1968. He lived in Snyder briefly and met and later married Jeanie Hanes on October 27, 1972, in Vernon, Texas. He was a skilled carpenter and spent a career in cabinetry and other types of wood working construction. He helped build, houses, apartments, and numerous other types of structures, traveling in most every direction. He and Jeanie moved from Frederick to Manitou after Harold built their home. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Ronnie Teague, daughter-in-law: Mary Teague; three brothers: Charles, Steve, and Jerry Calvin; and three sisters: Emma Lauer, Betty Calvin, and Darlene Duncan.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Jeanie Calvin, of the home; a son: Larry Teague, of Duncan; a daughter: Kayla Cope and husband Ty, of Weatherford, Texas; a sister: Debra Givens and husband Bobby, of Manitou; five grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and one on the way; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
