Oscar "Rocky" Foster, Jr., born on July 25, 1949, in Chicago, IL, departed on his heavenly journey on July 6, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of love, ambition, and humility. Rocky, as he was fondly known, carried with him an air of charisma that was as infectious as his love for life. A native of Chicago, he later found home in the warm embrace of Scottsdale, AZ, and finally, in the tranquil heart of Henderson, Nevada. His journey wasn't just defined by the places he lived, but rather by the lives he touched, and the indelible impressions he left on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know him.
In his professional life, Rocky was a smart and dedicated manager in the financial sector. He was known for his ambitious nature and his ability to bring out the best in those around him. Outside of work, Rocky was a man of diverse passions. He held a deep love for tennis and, in his youthful days, found thrill in the roar of car racing. However, his greatest love was his family and friends. His wife Ivynnell Sandifer, daughters Carmen (Michael Patillo), Lauren (Sammy Abdu), and Christian, his sister Aubria, his grandchildren Nicholas, Gregory, Christopher, Megan, and Amina, and his nephews David "Corky" Brown (Nancy Brown) and Michael Garrette, and godson Michael Ryan, will remember him as a good listener, a man who loved to discuss politics, a great friend, and truly "one of a kind."
Preceding him in death were his parents, Oscar Sr. and Margaret Foster, and his beloved sister, Dr. Frances B. Holliday and her husband Oliver Holliday, and his beloved pets, Buddy and Zoe.
As we remember Oscar "Rocky" Foster, Jr., we are reminded of the verse from Matthew 5:16, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven." Rocky's light shone through his remarkable life, touching all who knew him, and continues to shine in our hearts and memories.
Please join us in celebrating the life of Oscar Foster, Jr. by sharing your memories and photos on his memorial page. We invite you to honor his life and the joy he brought into ours. Let us remember him as he was - full of life, love, and an unwavering spirit.
