Oscar Antonio W. Uresti Sr., known affectionately as Oscar, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2024, at the blessed age of 83, surrounded by his loving family. Born on July 5, 1941, he was the cherished son of Jesus Uresti and Delores Spencer Uresti.
Oscar is reunited in heaven with his beloved wife Aurora, and is preceded in death by his parents, brothers Jessie, Joe, Andrew, Rene, and sister Lupe.
Oscar retired from Kelly Air Force Base with 30 years of dedicated service and enjoyed over 25 years of retirement. He was a devoted father and adored "Popo" survived by his sons: Oscar A. Uresti Jr. (Claudia), Derek Uresti Sr. (Becky), and Michael Uresti (Monica). He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren: Dacia (Ruben), Matthew, Marcus, Derek Jr. (Nikki), Mariana, Madelyna, and Ava, as well as his great-grandchildren Kayla and Brandon, and great-great-grandchild Emma. Oscar is also survived by his sister Theresa and leaves behind many friends and extended family members.
Oscar found joy in life through his love of music, enjoying the tunes of Alan Jackson and Ramon Ayala, and spending evenings dancing. He had a passion for golf and cherished the moments spent with his sons and their families. He appreciated the simple pleasures in life, including the occasional ice-cold Modelo.
In our hearts and memories, Oscar's legacy lives on through the valuable lessons he imparted, the love he shared unconditionally, and the precious memories we will forever hold dear.
Visitation to take place on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary to be recited at 6:00 p.m. Family and friends will prepare to depart at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 1, 2024, for a 10:00 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Luke's Catholic Church. Entombment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery II.
