Otto G. Liang, a beacon of love and a paragon of intelligence, passed away on October 14, 2024, after an unfortunate accident that occurred in the previous year. Born on the sun-kissed shores of Hawaii in 1980, Otto's spirit was as vibrant and warm as his birthplace. He transitioned peacefully in
Orange, California, leaving behind a legacy of passion, ingenuity, and affection that touched the lives of everyone he knew.
Otto's journey was marked by an unquenchable thirst for knowledge and an unwavering commitment to excellence. A proud graduate of Don Antonio Lugo High School, he carried his zeal for learning and problem-solving into his studies at California State Polytechnic University in Pomona, where he majored in Aerospace Engineering. His academic pursuits were not merely a path to a profession but a gateway to affecting change in the world above.
For 20 years, Otto soared in his career as a Senior Engineer in the Aerospace industry, where his brilliance shone as brightly as the stars he aspired to reach. His professional life was a testament to his dedication, not only to his craft but also to the betterment of humanity through the marvels of aerospace advancements.
Yet, Otto's universe revolved not around his accolades or achievements but around the joyous laughter and boundless dreams of his beloved family. He is survived by his wife, Emi Liang, his two sons, Alvin and Justin, his parents, Bingcheng and Mayumi Liang, and his brother, Philip. His friendship with Kenneth Tse was as profound as brotherhood itself, a bond forged in mutual respect and enduring loyalty.
Otto's love for his children was the cornerstone of his existence. Whether he was running alongside Alvin, igniting in him the same passion for track and field that Otto himself had cherished, or reveling in the shared interest with his younger son, Justin, Otto's heart was fullest when he was with his boys. His role as a father was performed with an enthusiasm that was nothing short of inspiring. He was not just a father; he was a mentor, a cheerleader, and the epitome of what it means to be a proud parent.
His interests extended beyond the track and into the very fabric of his family's lives. Otto was an amazing provider, a man whose every effort was aimed at enhancing the lives of those he held dear. His love for his family was a force that propelled him to strive for greatness, not for himself, but for the comfort and happiness of his loved ones.
Otto Liang was the embodiment of love, intelligence, and passion. His life was a motivational speech lived out loud, inspiring others to reach for their dreams, to cherish every moment, and to love without reservation. The impact of his presence was like a ripple in a pond, spreading far and wide, instilling hope and kindling the fires of ambition in all who were fortunate enough to cross his path.
As we remember Otto, let us not dwell on the tragedy of his departure but celebrate the monumental footprint he left on this earth. His spirit, as boundless as the sky he so loved, will continue to guide and motivate us. Otto G. Liang's story is not one of an end but a beautiful reminder of what it means to live a life filled with purpose, joy, and an unwavering commitment to the ones we love. In his memory, let us all aspire to reach the heights he both literally and figuratively sought to conquer.
