Ottone Gary Genuario, 82, of Cedar Grove, N.J. passed away peacefully on Monday, September 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Newark, Gary later lived in Bloomfield before settling in Cedar Grove. A dedicated and hardworking man, Gary was the founder of Gary Genuario and Associates. Gary was a devoted fan of the New York Yankees and New York Giants, His love for sports was matched only by his deep commitment to his faith. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Lucy's Church in Newark, Gary was a proud member of the church choir, CYO, Drum Corps and their Bowling League.
Above all, Gary was a family mankind, generous, and devoted. He is predeceased by his parents, Ottone "Woody" and Ann (nee Turco) Genuario, he is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 57 years, Zina M. (née Todaro) Genuario; his sons, Ottone Gary Genuario, Jr. and his wife, Danielle, and Anthony J. Genuario and his wife, Valarie; and his adored grandchildren, Angelina, Nicholas, and Gia Genuario. He also leaves behind his brother, Alan Genuario and his wife, RoseAnn; his sister, Ann Battista and her husband, Joseph; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Lucy's R.C. Church, Newark on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10:30 a.m. Arrangements are under the care of Shook's Cedar Grove Funeral Home, 486 Pompton Ave., Cedar Grove. Memories and condolences may be shared at shookscedaregrove.com.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gary's memory may be made to St. Lucy's Church, 118 7th Avenue, Newark, N.J. 07104.
