Owens Taylor Obituary
June 7, 1947-March 29, 2026
Owens was born to Owens and Hattie Taylor in Snow Hill NC. He moved to New Haven, CT during his senior year and graduated from Hillhouse High School in 1965. After graduation, he worked for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft. He married his wife Juanita in 1968 and attended a training school which prepared him for a job as an iron worker for Advanced Steel Local 424. Owens became a foreman and assisted in erecting several buildings in the greater New Haven area. Owens loved to barbecue and visit with family and friends. He was known for his outgoing talkative and hearty personality.
Owens leaves to mourn him his wife Juanita, grandsons Owens III, Brandon, Joseph, Tayron and Javon Taylor. Granddaughter, Brianna Taylor. Also great grand children Owens IV, Dakarie, Laila, Taylin, Anahlys and Nova Taylor. He also leaves his nieces Leslie and Krystal Spence and nephew Arthur Spence along with a host of family members and friends. Owens was predeceased by his son, Owens Jr, brother Lewis and sister Hattie (Taylor) Spence.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 3, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Hamden Memorial, 1300 Dixwell Ave. Hamden, CT.
