Owyer “Wayne” Henry, age 79, passed away peacefully on March 22, 2026, surrounded by family and friends.
Born January 30,1947 in Gallipolis Ferry, WV, Wayne was the son of Ira Henry and Helena Faye Simpkins, both of whom preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandy Henry; his devoted companion, Ardana Lynch; and his brother, William “Burl” Henry.
Wayne is survived by his son, Wayne “Tag” Henry, and his brother, Ronald Henry.
A proud veteran of the United States Army, Wayne served his country during the Vietnam War with courage and distinction. His service was recognized with numerous honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with four Bronze Service Stars, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Combat Infantryman Badge, Parachutist Badge, and the Purple Heart.
Following his military service, Wayne built a life grounded in hard work and entrepreneurship. He owned and operated an auto body repair shop named in honor of his father, as well as Tag’s Auto Sales, a business named after his son.
Wayne will be remembered for his compassion for people, his strong work ethic, and his lifelong love of cars. His life was marked by service to his country and by a quiet pride in the life he built and the family he cherished.
He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
