P. "Fred" Auker, 93 of Mount Vernon passed away on December 8, 2024 at his residence, surrounded by his family. He was born on May 13, 1931 to Pearl and Hulda (Thompson) Auker in New Straitsville, OH.
Fred's favorite thing was spending time with his family. He retired from the Mount Vernon City Schools as the head of maintenance after 30 years of service. Fred enjoyed fishing and taking car rides. He enjoyed traveling down to North Carolina for vacations. Fred loved working with his hands and was an accomplished mechanic.
Fred was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa, Brother and Uncle.
Fred is survived by his wife Mary (Mount) Auker who he was married to for 69 years; a son Steven (Kim) Auker of Mount Vernon, OH, Kathy (Ron) Simpson of Howard, OH, Tom (Amy) Auker of Mount Vernon, OH; grandchildren Andrea (John) Rees of Mount Vernon, OH, Corey (Lisa) Auker of Mount Vernon, OH, Justin (Lauren) Auker of Mount Vernon, OH, Adrienne (Jeff) Harris of Mount Vernon, OH, Emily (Pat) Weeks of Mount Vernon, OH and Michael Bond of Mount Vernon, OH; great – grandchildren Nevaeh, Ansley, Kooper, Jace, Liam, Lily, Emeran, August, Sophia, Lyndsay, Madalyn, Kaleigh, Braelynn, Nathan and Families.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Walter Auker, John Auker, Juanita Auker, Dorothy Dunn, Melissa Cecil, Alfred Auker and grandson Rich Daubenmier.
The family will be observing private graveside services at a later date.
