PAMELA "PAM" LORRAINE DUCKSWORTH was born on February 17, 1949, in East St. Louis, Illinois. She was the sixth of eight children born to William and Henrietta (Powell) Duck- sworth Jr., both of whom preceded her in death.
Pam attended the East St. Louis School District from elementary through high school, graduating from Lincoln Senior High School in 1967. Shortly after, she enrolled in the Technical and Adult Education Program of Manpower Development and Training program at Southern Illinois University, where she earned a certificate in mechanical drafting. Upon receiving her certificate, Pam began working at Southwestern Bell, now known as AT&T, where she dedicated 35 years of service. She started as a telephone operator and steadily advanced, becoming a supervisor overseeing telephone operators, then promoted to customer service representative in the business department at the time of her retirement.
Pam was a caring and loving mother to her three children: Lori Alexander, Dion Ducksworth, and Ashton Ducksworth. Her greatest priority was making sure her children were healthy and well cared for. Pam was preceded in death by her son, Dion.
Pam enjoyed going to BINGO halls, taking BINGO trips, and going to the casino, which she often called "the boat," with her sisters and cousins. After retirement, she continued these outings with family, specifically her cousin Gail and her friend Hazel. She also cherished time with her grandchildren, taking them to parks, shopping for toys and games, and attending their sporting events.
She was also preceded in death by her sisters Barbara "Jeannie" Good, Carolyn "Sis" Cook, Muriel Williams, and her brother Erickson Ducksworth Sr.
On Friday, February 7, at 6:46 P.M., Pam made her final transition, having made her peace with God.
She leaves behind cherished memories with: her daughter Lori Alexander of Collinsville, IL; her son, Ashton (Shayla McGee) Ducksworth of East St. Louis, IL; her sisters, Janet "Basis" Williams of Caseyville, IL, and Denise Ducksworth of Caseyville, IL; her brother, Daryl Ducksworth of East St. Louis, IL; six grand- children, five great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, neph- ews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Pam's warmth, kindness, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
