Pamela "Darlene" Kirk, 56, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, October 23, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born July 14, 1969, in Georgetown, Kentucky, to the late Tommy and Brenda (Rogers) Rowland, Darlene was the heart and soul of her family. She is survived by her devoted husband of 33 years, Scott Kirk; her loving children, Blake (Grace) Kirk, Landon (Corey Stevens) Kirk, and Madelyn Kirk; and her cherished granddaughter, Scotti June Kirk. Darlene is also survived by her siblings, Marlene (Tim) Phelps and Lee Rowland, as well as many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and aunts.
Darlene grew up in Lexington, Kentucky, graduating from Bryan Station High School, class of 1987. She then attended the University of Kentucky-Ashland Community College. She graduated with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in 1993.
Darlene's life was defined by her unwavering love and partnership with Scott. From the moment they met, their connection was undeniable. Married in 1992 at Bryan Station Baptist Church, Darlene and Scott built a marriage rooted in friendship, respect, and joy. They were true soulmates-best friends who did everything together. Whether working side by side in the yard, traveling, boating, going out to dinner, or simply enjoying a quiet evening at home, Darlene and Scott's bond was evident to all who knew them. Their adventures took them everywhere, from Caribbean cruises and traveling with Scott to his conferences, to visiting their children or relatives for a weekend trip, Darlene was always eager to experience new places and create lasting memories with her husband. She found happiness in the simple moments-planting flowers, decorating for every season, and making their house a warm, welcoming home. Their partnership was a testament to devotion and love, and Darlene's commitment to a strong, joyful marriage will always be remembered.
Her proudest accomplishment was her children. As a stay-at-home mom, Darlene dedicated herself to raising Blake, Landon, and Madelyn, ensuring they were always supported, celebrated, and loved. She made holidays magical, birthdays unforgettable, and built a home filled with laughter and warmth. She sacrificed so much for her kids, ensuring they were always on time despite a busy schedule, and always made sure they got everything they wanted and needed. She raised all of her kids to be college graduates and successful adults, and was deeply proud of them and their accomplishments. Darlene's joy grew even greater when she became a grandmother to Scotti June this past January, embracing her new role as "Gigi" with tremendous pride and affection. She made every effort to spend time with Scotti and cherished the memories made with each other. Scotti will always be reminded how much she was spoiled and loved by her Gigi.
Darlene's kindness and generosity extended far beyond her immediate family. She cherished her role as a big sister to Marlene and Lee, always calling, visiting, and supporting them in every way she could. They were some of her best friends, and she made it a priority to see them whenever possible. Darlene was also a proud and loving aunt, going out of her way to celebrate her nieces' and nephews' milestones and achievements. Her care for her extended family was unwavering, and she was always present for the big moments in their lives.
Darlene was the life of the party, lighting up every room with her infectious spirit and sense of fun. She had a knack for making everyone feel welcomed and loved, and her legendary shopping sprees always resulted in the perfect gift to brighten someone's day. Whether close or distant, Darlene's warmth and excitement touched everyone she met. Her memory will
live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Darlene will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love, laughter, and generosity will continue to inspire her family and friends.
