Obituary of Pamela Leach
Pamela Carol Leach, 67, passed away peacefully at home on June 23, 2022, with family and
friends by her side. She was born in Corning, New York on September 26, 1954, to Lloyd H. and
Anna Leach. She graduated from Haverling Central School in Bath, New York in 1972 and
attended Corning Community College.
Her professional career was spent at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath, New
York, where she worked for 31 years. Pam began her career in 1975 working in Domicliary
Services. She then moved on to Fiscal Service where she honed her clerical and accounting
skills. Then a promotion to Medical Administrative Service and subsequently to the Medical VA
Service, where she retired as a respected and dedicated employee. After her retirement, Pam
spent time volunteering with the Southern Tier Rural Health Clinic, transposing medical records
from paper to E-charts.
She loved her schnauzer dogs, Gretchen and Heidi. They were a very important part of her life.
She took them with her whenever possible including camping trips! They were the first to greet
Pamela's house guests. Those fur babies were followed by Sadie, who also wove herself into the
fabric of Pam's life.
When it came to family, Pamela was always ready to join in family affairs whether it be camping
at Sampson State Park or a large get together for someone's birthday. Christmas was especially
special for her. She combined her love of dogs with family by always being available to dog-sit
when needed as long as they didn't mind getting a spoiled dog back. She also enjoyed getting
together with her friends for a variety of occasions. Pam was known by friends and family as a
person with unique collections that included Winnie the Pooh, giraffes, and lighthouses. Pam
loved sunflowers and she filled her home with them when they were in season.
She is survived by her brothers David (Margaret) Leach of Rochester, Robert (Nancy) Leach of
Jacksonville, NY, and sister Christine Wallace of Wethersfield, CT, nieces and nephews: Karen
(Leach) and Michael Ierlan of Victor, NY, Courtney Bennett of Wethersfield, CT, William (Shanon)
Bennett of Jamestown, NY,Eric (Bethli) Leach of Thonotosassa, FL,, Amy (Leach) and Nick Moe
of Jacksonville, NY, Adam (Celeste) Leach of Trumansburg, NY, Robin (Leach) Burton of
Interlaken, NY, great nieces and nephews: Tristan, Chayse And Doyle Ierlan; Savanna, Ayvah,
Lincoln and Lennox Moe; Charles Leach; Everly Burton; and Olivia Deveran and Aubrey Bennett.
Final arrangements are with Fagan Funeral Home and burial will be at Nondaga Cemetery in
Bath. There will be a Celebration of Life held at the United Methodist Church in Bath, New York,
on August 27, 2022 at 11:00 am.. Donations may be made to the Bath Humane Society or
another worthy charity of your choice.

I am so sorry for your loss. Pam was a wonderful person and friend. We had many laughs as work and her laughter was infectious. She was always there to help either a veteran or a co-worker. She will be missed by many. Thoughts and prayers to the entire family.

I met Pam before I started at the VA, we both were surprised when our paths crossed, she was part of our nursing cohort, she shared our office. She had a great sense of humor and dedication. There is no doubt she earned her wings, fly high Pam!
