Pamela J. Matthews passed away on March 20, 2025, at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center in Elmira, NY, at the age of 67. Born on February 21, 1958, in Towanda, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Norma (Brown) House.
Pam was a dedicated employee of Anchor Glass in Elmira, NY, where she worked diligently and formed many lasting friendships. Outside of work, she had a passion for cooking and baking, crafting delicious meals and treats that brought her family and friends together. Her talents extended to sewing and fishing, hobbies she enjoyed in her leisure time. Pam also took pleasure in working in her yard, traveling, and watching sports, particularly little league games, supporting young athletes with enthusiasm. She was United Methodist by faith.
She is survived by her devoted husband of nearly 45 years, Theodore N. Matthews, Jr., and their two sons, Ryan L. Matthews and Eric N. Matthews. Pam was a proud grandmother to Savannah L. Matthews and Jaxon A. Matthews, whom she adored. She is also survived by her brothers, Raymond D. House, Scott L. House, and Norman J. "Jay" House; sisters, Romona L. Roach, Judy A. Belawski, and Marilyn J. Wilber; and several nieces and nephews who will fondly remember her warmth and kindness. Pam is preceded in death by her beloved parents, her great grandson Cameron A. Matthews, and her sister Terri L. Fenton.
Services for Pam will be private and at the convenience of her family. The Gerald W. Vickery, Jr. Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc. 1093 West Main St. Troy, PA has been entrusted with the arrangements.
