Mrs. Pamela Kay Fielder Stafford, 70, died Tuesday, November 4, 2025, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. The funeral service will be Sunday, November 9, 2025, at 2:30 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church of Oxford with Rev. Ron Wilson and Rev. Barrett Milner officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Methodist Cemetery in Courtland, MS. Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:00 P.M. in First Presbyterian Church's Fellowship Hall.
Mrs. Pam was born on December 24, 1954, to the late Bill Fielder and Martha Ann Branscome Fielder. She was married to the love of her life, James Douglas Stafford for 49 years. Pam and Jim shared a beautiful life together. Their love of travel took them to many memorable places, including her favorite vacation spot, Prince Edward Island in Canada.
She proudly held the position of choral director at First Methodist in Batesville, Black Jack Presbyterian Church in Panola County, and Mt. Olivet Methodist Church in Panola County and was a devoted member of Mt. Olivet Methodist Church in Batesville and Oxford Civic Chorus.
Pam earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education and a master's degree in music education from the University of Mississippi and remained a great supporter and fan of the Ole Miss Rebels. She taught music at South Panola School District for 35 years. Being a "master" of piano, guitar, and voice, she shared her gift with many students, including her creation of choral camps and coordination of the annual musical "American Pop".
Pam enjoyed quilting and crocheting and gifted many blankets for family and friends. Above all, her grandchildren were her greatest loves. Family and friends will always remember Pam for her creativity and delicious meals. In additional to her parents, Mrs. Pam was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Daniel Stafford.
Survivors include her husband, James Douglas "Jim" Stafford of Oxford, MS; daughters, Sandy Guntharp (Tim) of Memphis, TN and Whitney Stafford Holmes of Oxford, MS; sister, Sondra Peters of Clarksville, TN; brother, Steve Fielder of Oxford, MS and three precious grandchildren, Johnny, Tommy and Valkyrie.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Stafford's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, stjude.org/give.html.
