Pasquale Charles Daloisio, a longtime resident of New Hope, PA, died peacefully on Thursday, August 29, 2024. He was 92 years old.
Known to all as Pat, he was born in Trenton, NJ on July 27, 1932, the only child of Pasquale Daloisio, Sr. and Mary Grace Vinch Daloisio of Homecrest Ave, Trenton, NJ. Pat was a 50-year resident of New Hope, PA. He loved going out for drinks and dinner with his wife Rachel and hanging around with a diverse set of friends and neighbors enjoying all the eccentricities of this river town in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Professionally, Pat worked as the Technical Engineer and Manager of Manufacturing for Plastech, a plastic company based in Warminster, PA. Pat developed and was granted multiple US patents, including a nest and stack plastic hopper bin used in sanitation conscious environments, such as food and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities, a tilt truck that was used for the easy moving and dumping of solid materials by one person, and an integral double-wall container used by electric utilities to protect linemen working from utility bucket trucks. He graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1950 and took advanced courses at Rider College in mathematics, mechanics for engineering, and industrial management.
Pat was a veteran of the US Navy serving during the Korean Conflict era.
In retirement, Pat worked part-time at Kmart in Doylestown, PA. He enjoyed working around his home and traveling around the country with Rachel in their Chevy RV van. Later in life, after Rachel's passing, Pat, ever the inventor, spent his time tinkering and continued to create tools that helped him pick-up dropped items, remove weeds from his brick patio or simplify household tasks that had, with age, become more difficult.
In 1953, Pat married Rita Nearing and started a family, initially in Bordentown, NJ, later in Yardley, PA and eventually building a custom home on Solebury Mountain in New Hope. Rita and Pat divorced after 20 years of marriage but continued to work together in their dedication and commitment to their sons, grandchildren and extended family.
Pat was the husband of the late Rachel Finney Daloisio and the son of the late Pasquale Daloisio, Sr. and Mary Grace Vinch Daloisio. He is survived by his sons Pat Daloisio (wife Deborah) of Yardley, PA and Gregory Daloisio of New Hope; his grandchildren Kathryn Daloisio, Margaret Daloisio (husband Keith Bjorhus), Daniel Daloisio and Elizabeth Daloisio; his great-grandchildren Christopher Neuner, Jackson Neuner and Isabelle Bjorhus; and his former wife Rita Eldridge of Warminster, PA.
Committal services with US Navy veteran honors will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at 11:30 am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Relatives and friends are invited to attend and should gather at the cemetery's administration building by 11:20 am that morning.
