Pasqualino Spatola, age 57, of Springfield PA passed away March 18, 2024, leaving a void in the hearts of his loved ones and all who knew him.
Beloved and devoted husband of Maria (née Billick) for 26 years. Loving and proud father of Dominic and Alex. Devoted Dog Dad to Charlie. Loving son to Concetta Maria (née Sierchio) and the late Giuseppe Spatola. Dear brother to Maria Spatola-McAteer and Adriana Spatola. Supportive and loving Uncle to Lauren (Michael) Zampitella, Billy Spatola, Alivia, Emma, and Gianna Zampitella. He is survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert Billick, brother-in-law, Thomas McAteer, and nephew, Thomas Michael McAteer. His unique combination of birthright, personality, and leadership earned him the nickname “King Pat” among his family.
Born in West Philadelphia, Pat attended St. Donato’s School and graduated from West Philadelphia Catholic Boys' High School. After attending Villanova University, he moved to Springfield, PA, where he met the love of his life, Maria, in 1991. Together they created a beautiful life and had two wonderful boys, Dominic and Alex. He was a proud father who loved debating every topic, from cooking recipes to politics, with his son Dominic. He was an avid sports fan and loved talking about the NFL with his son, Alex, but no sport made him happier and more excited than watching him play football.
His devotion to his children began his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America, Troop 512, Springfield, PA. He loved sharing this experience with his boys. After 12 years of camping, hiking, cooking, planning trips, and sharing his wisdom with those who would listen, and even becoming Scoutmaster (2022-2023), he turned over the reins to spend more time with his family and friends.
Another cornerstone of Pat’s life was his long-standing participation in the Malvern Retreat House's Annual Epiphany Retreat for over 30 consecutive years, all with his closest friends. His spiritual dedication and deep-rooted beliefs touched the lives of many during these retreats, leaving a profound impact on all had the privilege of attending alongside him.
Pat was known for his unwavering commitment as a Lead Staff UNIX Engineer at Berkley Technology Services in Wilmington, DE for over two decades. He brought passion and expertise to every role he undertook, leaving a lasting impact on all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. His exceptional talents shone brightly as he navigated various positions within Berkley, showcasing his leadership skills and dedication to his craft.
