Pastor Franklin "Frank" Huffman

Pastor Elmer Franklin “Frank” Huffman, age 80, of Ararat, NC, passed away on Friday December 20, 2024, at Atrium Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. He was born in Noblesville, Indiana, the son of the late Raymond Lester and Idalee Riley Huffman. Pastor Huffman was a retired minister having served Friends Union Church in Pinnacle, NC and Galax Friends Meeting and others through the years. He also wrote many articles through the years for Good News Paper of Surry County. He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy. He is survived by his wife, Trudy Bass Huffman; sons, Tony Huffman (Denny), and Bill Laughlin; grandchildren, Emma Hiatt, Caitlin Hiatt, Geremy Huffman (Melissa), and Gina Clemens (Chris); four great grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Faye Ellen Huffman Koss (Dave); brother, George Owen Huffman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Raymond Lester Huffman II, Betty Jean Huffman, Norma Lee Rumler, Ellis “Roy” Huffman and James Oliver Huffman. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, 2:00 PM at Moody Funeral Service Chapel with Rev. John Kinder officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. Moody Funeral Service of Mount Airy is serving the Huffman family.
