Patsy (Pat) S. Hansen, age 92 of Waupaca, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. She was born during a snowstorm on a farm near Bethany, Missouri on January 31, 1933, daughter of the late Leland (former mayor of Bethany) and Pauline (Daniel) Magee. She was a graduate of Bethany High School and Iowa State University. Pat married Wayne Hansen on June 29, 1953, and together they shared 51 years of marriage until his death in 2004.
Pat is survived by her children: Paula (Brad) Millikin and Bruce (Brighid) Hansen; her four grandchildren: Stuart (Sarah) Millikin, Forrest (Joelle) Millikin, Travis Millikin and Rachel (Steve) Wagner; and she was a favorite of her eight great-grandchildren who she enjoyed very much.
Pat was employed by Iowa State University for 22 years as an Academic Advisor for the College of Education and Coordinator of Student Affairs for the College of Design. She was also a junior high teacher in Farmington, MO.
She loved to travel and explore, visiting destinations across the United States and around the world. She loved reading, history and music, teaching piano lessons for many years. Pat was exceptionally creative, an adventurous cook, and sewed clothes, quilts and costumes for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was fun to be around, always ready for a new adventure, and delighted in discovering new places and experiences.
Pat will be remembered for her intelligence, kindness, creativity, and for the deep love she had for her family.
At Pat's request, a private family celebration will take place at Brunet Island State Park in Wisconsin, where they will gather to share memories and honor her final wishes.
