Pat Warhop King, a beloved member of the Idabel community, passed away peacefully on March 24, 2026, at McCurtain Memorial Hospital. Born on March 17, 1948, in Idabel, Oklahoma, Pat entered this world as the cherished daughter of Floter and Lillie Mae Warhop.
A proud graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in the class of 1965, Pat dedicated many years to her professional career. She was employed by Safeway, where she made lasting contributions, and in recent years, she extended her compassion and care by working for a home health agency. Her commitment to helping others was a testament to her generous spirit.
Pat's life was richly filled with love for her family, friends, and dogs, which brought her immense joy and purpose. She was a devoted mother, sister, and friend whose warmth touched many lives.
She is survived by her loving sisters Mamie Cooper and Barbara (James) Craft of Clarksville, Texas, and Bernice Warhop of Oklahoma City. Her brothers Willie Warhop and David (Jean) Warhop of Idabel, Oklahoma; Donald Warhop of California; and Charles Warhop of Oklahoma City remain pillars of her enduring family legacy. Alongside them, a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends continue to cherish her memory and the profound impact she had on their lives.
Pat was preceded in death by her son, Darren (Stompy) Lamont Auber’t; her parents Floter and Lillie Mae Warhop; her brothers Floter Warhop Jr., Ervin Warhop, Andrew Brown, and Robert Brown; and her sister Estella Jean Williams. Their memories live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A memorial service to honor Pat’s life will be held on April 4, 2026, 11:00 a.m. at Nunley’s Funeral Home, located at 3 NW Bois D Arc Avenue in Idabel, Oklahoma. Friends and family are invited to attend and celebrate the remarkable life of a woman whose kindness and devotion will not be forgotten.
Pat Warhop King’s legacy of love and dedication to her community and family endures, a shining example of a life well lived and a soul deeply cherished.
