ALLEN, Patricia Gail - of Flint Twp., age 86, died on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Mt. Morris Church of Christ - 1262 South St. in Mt. Morris. The family will receive visitors at the church on Sunday from 3PM until the time of service at 5PM. Burial will be held at a later date at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly, where she will be buried with her husband, Gerald.
Pat was born April 8, 1939 in Parkersburg, West Virginia to Clyde and Wilma (Poyet) Secoy. They lived across the river in Marietta, Ohio then moved to Marysville, Michigan to help with her asthma when she was in First Grade.
Pat married Gerald Allen on November 9, 1956 during her Senior Year as he was being deployed to Germany. She graduated and joined him in Germany where their first child, Tondra Jean, died prior to birth. Their next child, Gerald Jr. was born there six months before returning to Michigan. They moved to the Marysville area where Mike was born, then to Flint, Michigan where Terrine, and Tyana were born.
In 1970 they moved to their current home on Coldwater Road, and soon opened an Ice Cream Parlor on the front of their property, which Pat ran for several years. In addition to that, she would work in other part-time endeavors like selling Avon, and working for the National Enquirer. She passed her test to sell real estate; then went back to college and earned her degree in sex therapy. She later worked for Valley Christian Academy as a student counselor and worked with the Sherriff’s Department in fraud services.
Pat loved to travel, visiting every state in America, and most continents. She loved to fish, square dance, and entertaining family. She became a Christian as a teenager, and was proud that all her children also did so. She was a member of the Mt. Morris Church of Christ. Her first love was her husband, who she wanted to do everything with, and has now gone to be with him again.
Surviving are: Sons: Jay (Terri) Allen, and Mike (Tammy) Allen; Daughters: Terrine (Jerry) Riggs, and Tyana (Scott) Lange; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 68 years.
