Patty Noonan Barbato, 81, faithful servant of Jesus, moved from earth to heaven on October 13, 2025 after a long journey battling Alzheimer's Disease. Patty was born in Brockton, MA to John and Julia Tatro Noonan. The third of ten children, Patty lived much of her life in Stoughton, MA where she married Peter in 1964.
Patty had a diverse work life, working as a bank teller before marriage, then serving faithfully as a wife and mother. When Peter started his construction business in 1978, Patty not only encouraged this transition, but worked tirelessly alongside him, first in the office and then in the field, supplying female labor to meet government contract requirements. Patty eventually formed her own company, Patricia Construction, attending Wentworth Institute to obtain certifications and gaining industry expertise as a member of the National Association of Women in Construction. Patty's career at Patricia Construction enabled all four of her children to attend college debt-free.
Serving Jesus by reaching out to others was a hallmark of Patty's life. She was a Sunday School teacher, led women's Bible studies, served as a camp counselor and youth leader, led a recovery group, and helped numerous teens and adults get driver's licenses. She was always sending cards, letters, and postcards to encourage those around her. Her response to any issue or crisis was, "Let's pray about that right now."
Patty was also a champion in the fight against Alzheimer's Disease. After watching her young mother and siblings develop the disease, Patty began participating in research. She was involved in numerous research studies over 27 years, participating until the fall of 2022. She served on the board and as the route planner for the cycling fundraiser Memory Ride for Alzheimer's Research (now the
Alzheimer's Association Ride to End Alzheimer's) which has raised millions of dollars for research towards a cure.
Patty leaves behind her faithful husband and partner, Peter, who cared for her for many years. Her children, Paula Bickom (David), Deb Pierson (Jeff), Kevin Barbato (Lesli) and daughter-in-love Kristi Barbato McClymont. She adored her ten grandchildren: Jackie and Liz Pierson, Alexandra Barbato Barlow (Clay), Andrew, Bryan and Paige Barbato, Brandon and Kayla Bickom, and Peter and Zac Barbato. Patty's siblings include John E Noonan III (Donna) and Julie Noonan Lawson (Bill). She was greeted in heaven by her son, Michael Barbato, as well as many siblings and precious friends. Beloved nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends were also part of Patty's full life of love.
