Olson Funeral & CremationPatricia Ann Barth, lovingly known as Pat, Patty, or Trish, age 73, of Battle Lake, MN, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, following a brief battle with metastatic cancer.
Born in Campbell, MN, to Russell and Marjorie (Murray) Barth, Patty was a proud graduate of Campbell High School and a cherished member of her community. Her passion for fun and working with children and music led her to work the Cougar Connection and guide countless music programs at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. From an early age, Patty embodied a spirit of service, offering boundless love and support to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Throughout her life, Patty wore many hats with grace and dedication. She earned her cosmetology license and ran a salon, served as a waitress for many years “Hey Hun, what can I get ya”, and most recently worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant—always caring for others with warmth and compassion. In 1996, she moved to Ottertail to live with her parents and brother Roger, and they later settled in Battle Lake.
Patty was a free spirit, known for her infectious laugh and generous heart. She found joy in the simple pleasures: visiting with loved ones, dancing around bonfires, watching fireworks, and celebrating holidays with dazzling lights and festive decorations. Her love of flower gardening, cooking, and baking was matched only by her desire to share those gifts with others. Patty was the heartbeat of her family—her unwavering love and support will be deeply missed.
True to her giving nature, Patty chose to donate her remains to the University of Minnesota in lieu of a traditional funeral. Before her passing, she expressed one final wish: that we honor her life with hugs, laughter, and cherished memories as she begins her journey home.
Patty is survived by all those who loved her and called her family or friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Marjorie Barth; sister, Judy Petersen; granddaughter, Lily Barth; grandparents, Ray & Hazel Murray, and Henry and Sophie Barth; Nephews, Joshua Meyer, and Michael Jirak.
An Irish celebration of life to be held on November 1, 2025, from 3-7PM at Battle Lake Senior Citizen Center, 205 W Main St, Battle Lake, MN.
Meal served per her request in her honor.
