It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patricia A. Cornell, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and die-hard Boston Red Sox fan, who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on January 1, 1958, in Newport, Rhode Island, Patricia brought an infectious spirit and a great work ethic to everything she did.
Patricia will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family. She cherished every moment spent with her children, Jeffrey Cornell (Lynn), Elizabeth Garant, and BriAnn Cornell, and was particularly devoted to her grandchildren, Catherine, Patrick, Jordyn, Brian (Bud), Madisan, Emma, Noah, Aaliyah, Alexander, and great grandson, Thorin, who were the lights of her life. She will also be missed by her siblings; Deborah (Brian) Arnold, Mary (Russell) Budlong, DJ Ulrich (Penny), Mike (Axel) Ulrich, Susan Butler, Mary Cunningham and nieces and nephews.
Patricia was preceded in death by her partner of 43 years; Brian Butler, her parents; Sterling (Axel) and Elizabeth (Betty) Ulrich, brothers Ralph and Danny and her son; Daniel Cornell.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 17, 2025, from 5:00-7:00pm at Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Broadway, Newport.
While we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the joyful life Patricia lived-a life rich in love, family, and a passion for baseball. So, let's raise a glass to Patricia, whose spirit will forever remain in our hearts. Go Sox!
