Patricia Ann Costa, 88, of Shenango Township passed away Monday, March 3, 2025 peacefully among her family at home.
Born in New Castle on April 11, 1936, Patty was the youngest child of Henry S. Winkler and Mary Glontz Winkler.
She married Thomas P. Costa in 1955 and together celebrated fifty-two years of marriage. Tom preceded her in death on March 17, 2007.
Patty was a nurse and worked with Dr. Auquaviva for many years. She also worked for Dr. Steven Gabriel until her retirement. Patty operated her own business, The Clothes Closet and worked as a retail clerk until the closing of Troutmans.
Patty was a member of the Little Flower Club. A devoted member of Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church she served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered at the St. Vincent DePaul Society. Patty also enjoyed selling Avon earning several awards. A loving Grandmother and Great Grandmother, known as "GG", her favorite times were shared with family and friends. She enjoyed Family Reunions, camping, and swimming. Patty also enjoyed playing bridge with many cherished friends.
Patty is survived by her children, Carmen (Diane), Joseph (Cynthia), Rosalie (Jack), Pete (Mary Louise), John (Diane), and Mary with whom she resided, eleven grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Patty was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward, Casper and Henry Jr., one sister, Rita and two grandchildren, Kyla Dawn Costa and Giovanni "Gino" Costa.
Visitation will be on Thursday 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Ed & Don DeCarbo Funeral Home & Crematory, 941 S. Mill St. A procession will leave the funeral home on Friday at 10:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, St. Vitus Church. Father Aaron Kriss will officiate.
Entombment will be at Resurrection Mausoleum.
The Family wishes to Thank Three Oaks Hospice for their service and compassion.

The memories of Patty will live on within many of our Heart´s She was a beautiful person and gave her words of wisdom to many.. somehow she always knew when it was needed. It´s been 32 years since first met Patty like it was yesterday.. she´s was then and always will be a memory of strength laughter and unconditional love for everyone that in a big or small way came into her life.. I send to the family my condolences the lord will reassure all through your church and the grace that has been so unselfishly given to All

Sorry to hear of Patty's passing she was always nice to my wife and I we used to meet after church and go eat at shop and save she will be missed RIP God got a good angel
