Patricia Anne grew up in Woodside, NY with her proud parents Alice & Michael White. She was surrounded by her aunts and uncles who adored her. Patice, as she was affectionately called, grew up to be the Girl with the Big Voice. This big voice followed her everywhere, commanding a presence wherever she sang. Patice fell in love with a fellow from Regis High School, James N. Crovello. A 52 year marriage of hand holding and eternal love began. She dabbled in a bit of Broadway, broadcasting and studied at Fordham University. She then went on to work for NBC & American Airlines. After starting her life with Jim, full-time motherhood became Patty's greatest joy. Her children (and spouses) Kerry, John (Renee), Maura and Stephen (June) became the center of her being.
After Jim served as a Captain in the US Military, they settled in Port Jefferson, NY. Patty was devoted to nurturing her children and caring for extended family. Much energy and love was spent in supporting Jim's private psychiatric practice, until illness forced him to retire. Pat exemplified how endless acts of kindness and giving mattered most.
Family, friends, culture, Broadway, travel, conversation, reading, being a real-life princess, and music were some of her passions. Her joy grew exponentially while nurturing her grandchildren Nicholas, Kellyanne, Jamie, Drew, Connor, Kirsten, Ali and Austin, which came naturally to Pat. She had the gift of meeting her great-grandchildren, Nolan and Kennedy, as her illnesses progressed.
Pat was a Jeopardy wiz. Her brains carried far beyond her beauty. Her family loved to ski, especially her husband Jim. While everyone skied, she'd hold down the fort to ensure hot chocolate and lunch was abounding. She was notorious for leading family sing-alongs on car rides home after a NYC performance. In her 80's, determined to get to her destination, she returned to traveling the NYC subways. Pat's life wisdom and endless sayings brought smiles to many. She possessed the gift of making difficult moments lighter. En route to the hospital for herself, she lovingly taught smiling NYFD Paramedics how to properly bless themselves. That's just who she was. Laughs and hugs flowed naturally. She was a woman whose faith in God was unshakable. Pat was a classic, timeless, loving, elegant woman who simply wanted to be remembered for her caring nature and her kindness. Her legacy is a beautiful memory forever etched in our hearts. Patty is smiling in God's care as she is reunited with the love of her life, Jimmy.
