Kathleen M. Fields

Ms. Kathleen M. "Kathy" Fields, 70, passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on December 29, 2025. Born on April 13, 1955, in The Bronx, she lived a life marked by resilience, compassion, and deep connection to those around her.
Kathy earned her Master of Social Work from Fordham University, a reflection of her lifelong dedication to helping others. Her professional path was guided by empathy and a strong sense of purpose-qualities that also defined her personal relationships.
She was the proud and loving mother of her four daughters: Tracie Perri, Peggy McKee, Jennifer Dewender and Jennifer Tesler. Her legacy continues through her beloved grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ashley, Emma, Ben, Dylan, Kate, Giovanni and Bella. Kathy also shared a close bond with her sisters Pat, Eileen, Peggy, and Mary. She adored every niece and nephew and loved each one in a special way.
Kathy was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Eileen Fields. She was formerly married to Jimmy McKee and John Dewender.
A defining chapter of Kathy's life was her commitment to sobriety. She recently celebrated 34 years of sobriety-a milestone that not only marked personal triumph but also symbolized the strength she offered others through Alcoholics Anonymous. Through this journey, she built a chosen family of close friends who were drawn to her unwavering support and radiant spirit.
Kathy's magnetic personality could light up any room. She was known for being committed, caring, compassionate, and loyal-a friend admired by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
All are welcome to attend a visitation on Sunday, January 4th from 12-4PM at the Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home in Mahopac, NY. A prayer service will be held at 3:30PM during the visitation. Private cremation will follow.
