Ronald A. Deagan, a lifelong resident of Mahopac, NY passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 1, 2026 after suffering a medical emergency at the age of 51. Ron was born in Yonkers, NY on January 22, 1974, the son of William J. and Joanna (Stuppin) Deagan.
Ron graduated from Mahopac High School, class of 1992. He has worked as a maintenance technician with the Chappaqua School District for several years and is the current owner of SMS Heating in Mahopac.
In his spare time, Ron loved to fish. He loved his coffee, Bon Jovi music and the Chicago Bears football team. He is a life member of Mahopac Volunteer Fire Department where he previously served as Captain of Engine Co. 3 at the Crane Road station and served as Lieutenant of Engine Co. 1 at Headquarters.
On August 14, 1999 he married Michele Harrigan at St. John the Evangelist Church in Mahopac. In addition to Michele, he is survived by his daughters, Gabrielle and Alexandra, both of Mahopac; his mother, Joanna of Lake Carmel, NY; his brothers, William of Murrells Inlet, SC and John of Mahopac, also a member of Mahopac Fire Department; his sisters Suzanne Deagan of Lake Carmel and Nancy Deagan of Pawleys Island, SC as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father in 2008.
Friends may call on Thursday, January 8 from 4-8 pm at Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home. Firematic Services will take place at the funeral home at 7 pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 9 at 10 am at St. John the Evangelist Church, Mahopac (If attending the Funeral Mass, please go directly to church). Private cremation services will follow.
