Patricia Anne Cullins, 91
July 24, 1933 – February 7, 2025
With a life well-lived and a heart full of love, we say goodbye to Patricia Cullins, who passed away on February 7, 2025. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, lifelong educator, and cherished friend, she filled the world with warmth, wisdom, and joy. Her laughter, kindness, and generous spirit touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on July 24, 1933 in Ayer MA, Patricia, (also known as Aunt Patsy, Nana, and Nana Pat) was a proud Irish American who deeply embraced her heritage. She carried the spirit of Ireland in her heart. She found immense happiness in gathering with loved ones, sharing laughter, good food, and the kind of hospitality that made everyone feel at home. Her kitchen was always filled with the comforting aroma of food and fresh-baked treats, as she loved to cook and bake for family and friends, finding joy in creating meals that brought people together.
Pat dedicated most of her career teaching kindergarten, shaping the lives of countless children with patience, warmth, and encouragement. Early in her career, she lived and taught in Germany, where her late husband, Raymond, was stationed as a U.S. serviceman. Her time abroad was a treasured chapter of her life, filled with adventure, the birth of her first child, and a deep love for education. She eventually settled in Leominster MA and spent the rest of her career teaching in the Leominster Public School System. Teaching was not just a profession for Pat-it was her calling. She had an extraordinary ability to nurture young minds, fostering a love for learning that would stay with her students for years to come.
Beyond the classroom, Pat loved spending time near the ocean, where she felt most at peace. Some of her happiest moments were spent sitting by the shore with a glass of Chardonnay in hand, watching the waves crash with her beloved family and closest friends.
She is survived by her son Sean Cullins and his wife Carol, daughter Kara Cullins, grandson Shane Cullins and his wife Colleen, granddaughter Brianna Cullins and her partner Devin, her sister Jane Stober and brother Richard (Dick) Donnelly, and several beloved nieces, nephews, dear friends, and many former students – all who will forever cherish the memories and lessons she shared. She was reunited in peace with her beloved husband, Raymond, as well as her parents Paul and Myrtle, sister-in-law Patricia, and brother-in-law Al.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, February 13th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Leo's Church at 108 Main Street in Leominster MA. Calling hours will take place at the church at 10:00 a.m. prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Activities Department of Sterling Village Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, 18 Dana Hill Rd., Sterling MA 01564.
Though Pat may no longer be with us, her spirit will live on in the laughter of dear friends, the scent of something sweet baking in the oven, the love of a good story, and the crashing waves along the coast. Fare thee well, Patricia. May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be always at your back.
