Patricia Hartsell Eckard

Patricia Ann Hartsell Eckard, 70, of Hickory passed away Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Trinity Ridge following a period of declining health. Patricia was born November 26, 1946, in Iredell County, to the late Doke Monroe Hartsell and Clara Estelle Sharpe Wrenn. In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her husband Dale Richard Eckard, sister, Paula Hartsell Lail and brother, Larry Edward Hartsell. Patricia was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and was previously employed as a gourmet chef. Patricia fought a courageous 45-year battle with multiple sclerosis. She was a loving wife and mother and she adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed listening to music, had a flair for interior decorating and loved playing scrabble with her sister Laura whom she was very close. Patricia always kept things entertaining by telling humorous stories of her personal life experiences. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Mark Teague and wife, Michelle of Hickory; Ben Teague of Hickory; three granddaughters, Ashley Teague, Brooke Teague, and Candace Teague; grandson, Joshua Teague and two precious great granddaughters; Haven and Kennedy; her sisters, Laura George (Sam) of Winston Salem, NC, and Debra Carson (Don) of Lincolnton, NC and a number of nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Rev. Dr. Pearson Shaw officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, from 10:00 until 10:45 A.M. at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
