Patricia Forkas Obituary
Patricia was born on April 11, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio, the beloved daughter of the O'Donnell family. On December 1, 1955, she married the love of her life, Leonard Forkas (deceased 2008), with whom she shared 52 wonderful years. Together, they raised four children in Lakewood, Ohio, where Patricia devoted herself to family and community.
An active member of the St Malachi Catholic parish in Cleveland OH she devoted many hours at the back door handing out sandwiches and creating works of art for the Christmas service. Patricia was also a leader in the St. James School PTA. Her commitment to service extended beyond her church, as she dedicated many years to the Lakewood Senior Center, supporting older adults in the community. Patricia later became a respected fundraising specialist, working with leaders such as Governor Richard Celeste and Senator John Glenn of Ohio. She also served as Development Director at the West Side Ecumenical Center in Cleveland, continuing her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Patricia was an avid reader and valued education. Gifted with an astonishing memory and an extraordinary mind, she was known as a brilliant conversationalist and a compassionate listener. She loved her garden, baking for her grandchildren and playing bridge. Her generosity of spirit, sharp wit, and love for people left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Patricia is survived by her children: Deborah; Leonard (Viena Elizabeth); Michael (Brook); and Laureen (David Cox). She was the proud grandmother of Matthew & Viena Forkas, Emily & Mackenzie Forkas, and Ian, Nick & Thomas Cox. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her legacy of kindness, service, and love will live on in those whose lives she touched.
Visitation (Wake) will be held on Friday, September 26th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McGorray-Hanna Funeral Home, 14133 Detroit Avenue, Lakewood, Ohio.
A Funeral service in the funeral home followed by the burial will take place on Saturday, September 27th at 10:00 a.m.
In Lieu of Flowers donations may be made in Patricia's honor to www.hopecam.org or www.pcc-cle.org

Dear Debby, Len, Michael, Laurie and families. The last time I saw all of you was when your Dad died, so it has been many years. That does not diminish the fact that we are all cousins who tried to keep up as best we could and the Siegel-Mack family sends our sincere condolences. Oh, goodness-- I am so sorry to learn of Pat's passing! I was her aerobic dancing instructor MANY years ago! She was a delightful person, always quick-witted and feisty (in a good way). Please accept my deepest condolences. Peace.

Debbie, Len, Mike, and Laurie, I am so sorry to hear about the passing of your mom. Your mom, dad, you all and our favorite dog Beau(!) were such good neighbors to me and Katy growing up. We loved going over to hang out at their house, eat some snacks, play with your dad's cool stuff in the basement, play cards with your mom, and generally horse around. We think so fondly of your mom and keep her and your family in our prayers.

I spent many years with Pat and we had many laughs and good times along the way. I was able to learn so many things from her during the 27 years I worked for her. She was always so generous and loved to educate me on people she read about. I will miss her and deepest Sympathies to the whole Forkas family. Love you all!
