Patricia Josephine "Pat" Furno (Wilson) ObituaryPatricia (Pat) J. Furno, 91, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
She was born on June 30, 1934, in Escanaba, Mich., daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth (Bross) Wilson. Pat graduated from Kingsford High School in 1952.
On June 26, 1954, she married the late Donald J. Furno at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. They shared more than 62 wonderful years of marriage. Together, Pat and Don owned and operated Furno's Tavern from 1956 until Don's retirement in 1983.
Pat also worked for many years in the canteen at the Veterans Hospital in Iron Mountain. She enjoyed bowling, playing cards, reading, coloring, and traveling. She and Don spent winters in Florida, where they became well known as "snowbirds."
Pat is survived by her son, Michael (Debbie) Furno of Iron Mountain; her daughter, Mary (John) Brooks of Spread Eagle, Wis.; her brother, Jim (Kathy) Wilson of Kingsford; her sister, Carol Poquette of Iron Mountain; brother- and sister-in-law, Raymond and Janet Furno of Racine, Wis.; two grandchildren, Domenic "Nick" Furno (Brooke Bodart) of Aurora, Colo., and Dustin Furno of Firestone, Colo.; her special cousin, Iris Manchus; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald; her parents; and her grandson, David A. Furno.
In keeping with Pat's wishes, private family graveside services will be held. She will be laid to rest in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain, Mich.
