Patricia passed away on Wednesday October 22, 2025 at her home. Born November 4, 1931 in Elkton to William and Florence (Rapson) Block. She graduated salutatorian of her class from Caro High School and attended Western Michigan University. Patricia was united in marriage with her husband of 67 years Harold Gates in 1951; they moved to Saginaw Township in 1958.
After raising six children and working part time in retail Patricia enjoyed a career as executive secretary at Cornwell Lumber and later King Lumber. She enjoyed reading novels and long walks, but bowling became her greatest passion. Despite never carrying a high average she was a Bowler Of The Week and bowled several 200+ games. While bowling she met and found love again late in life with Ken Rosa,
Patricia is survived by her children and spouses, Laurie & Ron Gardner, Garry Gates, Suzanne Gates, Teresa & Chad McPherson, Joseph Gates, Sharyl Gates & Frank Ortiz; grandchildren Benjamin & Sneha Gardner, Daniel & Anna Gardner, Stephen & Heather Gardner, Rachel & Sean Loftus, Hannah & Andrew Fox, Zane, Chloe and Clayton Gates, Emmaline Gates, Julia & Kenny Keefe; great grandchildren Caleigh, Peyton, Layne, Phoebe, Raziel, Adiana, Isabelle and Bryce Gardner, Cooper, Halle, Luka and Macklin Loftus; Mila and Lincoln Keefe; sisters Phyllis Nagel and Sharon Greenleaf, five nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at the W. L. Case and Company, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Jim Doran will officiate. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 2:00 p.m. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial contribution to Underground Railroad, Inc. of Saginaw.
