Patricia Irene Griffin, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on June 13, 1937, in Monticello, Georgia, Patricia was the cherished daughter of the late Seaborn and Lucille Stone McMichael.
Patricia grew up in a Christian household, where faith, love, and music were central to her upbringing. From a young age, she displayed a deep appreciation for music, which stayed with her throughout her life. She was a long-time and dedicated member of Second Baptist Church, where she found joy in being an active participant in both the choir and sunday school. Her love for both the church and its community was a testament to the strength of her faith.
Throughout her life, Patricia enjoyed many pastimes that brought her happiness. A lover of both physical activity and nurturing the outdoors, she spent countless hours tending to her yard, a hobby she continued with enthusiasm well into her 80’s. She was also an avid bowler and dancer, finding joy in these activities that brought her both relaxation and connection with others.
Patricia’s love for her family was her greatest joy and defining feature. She was a dedicated and supportive mother who made every effort to attend her children and grandchildren’s sports events, cheering them on with unmatched enthusiasm. Family was everything to her, and her nurturing spirit extended to everyone she loved. Whether it was through kind words, thoughtful gestures, or simply being present, Patricia made those around her feel cared for and cherished.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Griffin; and siblings Jean Dodson, and Shirley Miller; and great-grandchild, Carrie Griffin.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her children, Ricky Griffin (Kathy) of Macon and Patti McLain (Robby) of Warner Robins; grandchildren, Eric Griffin, Justin McLain, Macee Cerillo (Brenden) and Bonnie Sanchez; great-grandchildren, Daniel Sanchez and Jordan Cervantes; and siblings, Margie Sauls and Jimmy McMichael (Lynda Sue).
The family will greet friends during a visitation on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at McCullough Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel. Afterward, Patricia will be laid to rest at Parkway Memorial Gardens.
