Patricia Rose Hoops, 84, of La Porte, IN, passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2025, at IU Health Methodist Hospital.
Patricia was born on March 10, 1941, in Michigan City, IN, to Raymond and Leona Rozinski.
On December 15, 1959, she married Earl LeRoy Hoops, who preceded her in death on January 17, 2005. Surviving Patricia are her 2 daughters, Darlene Vance and Earlene "Kate" Reeves, both of La Porte; brother, Robert Rozinski of La Porte; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great, great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Lola Willoughby; sisters, Beverly Ann Myers and Ramona Cunningham; grandson, Randy Hoops; great-granddaughter, Aariyah Hoops Cooper; nephew, Randy Heider; and grandparents, Leander (Maude) Mallott and Clarence (Elizabeth) Rozinski.
When her family was younger, Patricia enjoyed having horses, ponies, cats, dogs, raccoons, and pigs. She enjoyed watching westerns and game shows, particularly Gun Smoke, Let's Make a Deal, and Price is Right, and was an extra in the movie "A Piece of Eden". Patricia loved painting, Halloween, and the Christmas season.
Patricia published a children's book, entitled Halloween Spook Stories. She had a gift and passion for writing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Cutler Funeral Home and Cremation Center.
A time of visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Cremation will take place following the service.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family c/o Darlene Vance, 2900 Monroe Street, La Porte, IN 46350.
