Patricia Ann Hummel

Pat Hummel was a devoted mother who unconditionally provided and cared for her children. She was supportive of their decisions, offered guidance throughout life and entrusted them with her care during their final days together. With her family by her side, Pat passed peacefully at home on September 28, 2024 in an abundance of love, compassion, and tranquility.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Robert Edinger (Kevin Fisher) and Traci Carpenter (Mary Kate Carpenter), along with countless friends who shared good times and made great memories along her journey. She'll be remembered by her friends at the American Legion DE Post 28 and the Dance Friends of Delmarva.
She was predeceased by her parents Robert Hartenstine and Madeline (Lavinia) and her sister Gerry Deeble.
A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community of Lewes, DE for 20 years, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. Prior to moving to Delaware, she resided in Naples, FL, where she enjoyed endless days shelling on the beach.
Driven in business, Pat led a successful career as a mortgage loan officer and realtor, helping many families secure their dream homes and vacation properties. In retirement she found more time to devote to the people and activities that she loved. Whether boating, fishing or crabbing, Pat took every opportunity to be on the water, soaking up the sun.
Pat's talents as a seamstress and crafter were appreciated by many. Creative by nature, she had a gift for making beautiful art and unique crafts. Earlier in life, she parlayed these skills into owning and operating a bridal shop. More recently, she enjoyed making crafts like purses, dolls, and pinecone art. Whether sewing a wedding dress or crafting a unique gift, everything she touched turned to gold.
Her smile and energy were contagious. She loved to dance, and people loved watching her energy come to life on the dance floor. To commemorate her incredible journey and to celebrate the love she spread, a Celebration of Life will be held in her honor at the Angola by the Bay Clubhouse (33465 Woodland Circle, Lewes, Delaware) on Sunday, October 13, 1:00-4:00pm.
We invite all who knew her to join us in remembering a truly remarkable woman. And of course there will be music and dancing as we thank her for all the great memories and applaud her many talents.
