Patricia "Pat" Garrett Idol, born May 31, 1940, in Guilford County, NC, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2025, at the Cross Road Retirement Center in Asheboro. She was 85 years old.
Pat lived a life marked by creativity, dedication, and love. A devoted homemaker, she worked tirelessly to create a nurturing and welcoming home for her family. Her talents extended beyond the domestic sphere; Pat had a flair for sewing and crafted exquisite costumes for local theatre productions, bringing joy and enchantment to many performances.
An accomplished author, Pat penned the cherished book "A Soul's Journey," leaving behind a legacy of words that will continue to inspire and comfort. In her later years, she delighted in traveling alongside her beloved husband after his retirement, creating lasting memories and exploring new horizons together.
Pat is preceded in death by her dear son, Shane; her cherished daughter, Michelle; her loving parents, Elizabeth and Harry Garrett and her brother, Gus Garrett.
She leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 66 years, Charles Barnett Idol; her son, Chris Idol, and wife Marion of Matthews, NC; and her daughter, Jennifer Idol Lang, and husband Ian of Lakeforest, CA. Pat's legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren, Roxanne and Tristan Lang, and Stephen, Matthew, and David Idol; as well as her great-grandchildren, Caleb, Kinsley, and Lainey. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Linda Garrett, daughter-in law (surviving Shane), Janet McDowell and husband Mark and many other extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.
