Kenneth Idol Obituary
He was born July 15, 1953, in Richmond County, son of the late Dennis and Mildred Idol.
Kenneth was a long-time member of Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church. He loved Richmond Raider football and spending Friday nights during the football season supporting them. He also enjoyed working outside. After retirement, he and Marilyn spent time traveling around the country.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, James Idol, Lloyd Idol, Gordie Idol, and Ernie Idol; sisters, Mary Hux, Linda Barnes, and Karen Idol.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Marilyn Idol of the home; daughters, Hope Potter (Wayne) of Rockingham, Emily Johnson (Aaron) of Rockingham, Kristie Mims (Jeremy) of Lilesville; sons, Larry Bordeaux II of Rockingham and Troy Bordeaux (Hilary) of Ahoskie, NC; grandchildren, Courtney Lyde (Robbie), Robert Potter, Cody Troxler, Aiden Johnson, Mason Johnson, Lane Ward, Halee Mims, Lilly Mims, Natalie Mims, and Hannah Bordeaux; great-grandchildren, Ayla and Oliver.
Visitation will be Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 12:00-1:00 pm, at Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church, Rockingham.
The funeral service will follow visitation, beginning at 1:00 pm, at Maple Street Free Will Baptist Church with Pastor Darwin Cook and Pastor David Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Richmond Memorial Park, Rockingham.
