Patricia Latzoni Obituary

Published by Legacy on Aug. 29, 2025.
Patricia Marie Latzoni, known fondly as Pat to her friends and loved ones, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2025, in Hillsborough, New Jersey. Born on November 12, 1938, in Newark, New Jersey, Pat's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her passion for justice, and her love for all creatures, great and small.

Pat was the daughter of the late Thomas Marlowe, Sr. and Anna Marie Chiampor, and the twin sister of Barbara Marlowe. She was also the beloved widow of Alexander W. Latzoni, Jr., with whom she shared many cherished moments. Her legacy continues through her devoted daughter, Kathleen Latzoni, son-in-law Kenaz Filan, and her adored granddaughter, Annamaria Filan. Pat will also be fondly remembered by her nieces, Barbara FitzPatrick, Joanne Kelly and Mary Poole.

After graduating Weequahic High School, Pat embarked on a career as a legal secretary, displaying her sharp intellect and unwavering ethics at prestigious Newark law firms such as McCarter & English and Mead, Gleeson, Hansen & Pantages. In her later years, she brought joy to many as a retail associate at Casual Woman, Hit or Miss, and Party Station in Short Hills, where her knack for customer service and detail shone through.

A woman of faith, Pat was a communicant at St. Rose of Lima in Short Hills and her beliefs guided her actions and her approach to life. She also dedicated many hours to coordinating service projects for the Girl Scouts Heart of NJ Council. Her spirit of giving and compassion was most evident in her tireless work for animal welfare. Pat cared for multiple feral cat colonies in Millburn and Short Hills, ensuring that even the smallest among us were shown love and care.

Pat's interests were as unique as her personality. She was an avid wreath maker, whose creations graced many doors and walls, bringing beauty to every season. Pat was also one of the first women in Marvel Comics fandom in the 1970s, communicating with others through newsletters and zines. Her comic book collection was not merely a hobby but a testament to her love for storytelling and the boundless worlds of imagination.

As we bid farewell to Patricia Marie Latzoni, we celebrate a legacy that will continue to touch lives for generations to come. She was, and will always be, a remarkable soul who left an indelible mark on the world.
