Patricia M. Lyons

With her family gathered around her, Patricia "Pat" (Kubik) Lyons, 82, of Johnson City, passed peacefully in the very early moments of Saturday, December 20, 2025.
She now joins her husband, Charles Lyons, as well as her brother, William Kubik, and sister, Roberta Kessler. She is survived by her brother, Neil Kubik; her children: Chris and Karen Lyons, Shelley and Dan Feheley, and Mary and Don Kaufman. In addition to the many lives she touched, both those of extended family and friends, her legacy lives on through her grandchildren: Julie and Michael; Michael and Emily; Jamie; and Jenna and Ian, all of whom she continued to adore and spoil into adulthood. She was so proud to have five great-grandchildren to call her "GG."
A lifelong resident of Johnson City, Pat devoted her life to helping others. Whether riding in the ambulance as an EMT or tending to animals during her many years at the local veterinary office, she was defined by her tireless work ethic and her inability to sit still. As a dedicated member of St. James Church, she could always be found in her usual pew and was deeply involved in organizing and serving at funeral luncheons for as long as she was able.
To know Pat was to know a woman who was wonderfully stubborn and fiercely independent. She had her own way of doing things, always precise and intentional. If you entered her home, you were going to eat something, and napkins are not up for debate. Those who loved her will remember those ways with a smile. Despite her wonderfully gentle nature, she also had a mischievous side that those closest to her thoroughly enjoyed. In fact, the money she collected in her well used "swear jar" was proudly put toward the matching family tattoos she insisted on getting last month.
Above all, she was a woman who consistently put the needs of others before her own. She lived to be the quiet glue that held everything together with a hard-to-hide servant's heart. Making sure everyone around her was cared for long before she considered herself was simply who she was.
A Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 am on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at St. James Church, 147 Main Street, Johnson City. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday at 9:30 am until the time of the Mass at the church.
