Patricia (Patty) Ann Mascaro

Patty passed away peacefully on July 25, 2025, at United Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. A private celebration of life will be held for immediate family members on August 29, 2025.

Patty was born on June 20, 1953, in Saint Paul, Minnesota, to Orville and Iris Baumgart. She grew up alongside her two siblings, Wendy and Terry. With parents from farming families, she developed a lifelong love for nature, faith, and family. She attended South Saint Paul High School, graduating Class of 1971.

Anthony (Tony) Mascaro came into her life as a blind date, beginning a love story that grew into 47 years of marriage. Together, they planted roots in South Saint Paul and raised three daughters, Sarah, Amy, and Jenna. Patty and Tony built a home that fostered family values that honored nightly family dinners, quality time camping up north (The 40), and a welcoming space for neighbors and friends. Along with raising three wonderful daughters, Patty made an impact throughout the South Saint Paul community as a Girl Scout leader, seamstress for the HS Colorguard, an active member at Concordia Lutheran Church and donor for Neighbors Inc and Meals on Wheels.

After retiring as a baker from The Portable Feast in 2015, Patty embraced her favorite role of all-grandma to eight grandchildren. Through her children, grandchildren, and all who knew her, she shared her love of baking, crafting, gardening, and animals. Known as "the hostess with the mostest," Patty brought warmth to every family gathering. She also enjoyed puzzles, sudoku, and reading, always keeping her mind active. She will continue to grow in our hearts and live on in every bloom she nurtured.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Iris Baumgart, and her grandson, Milo Neu. She is survived by her sister Wendy (Erland) Asmus; brother Terry (Linda) Baumgart; her beloved husband, Tony Mascaro; daughters Sarah (Nick) Corniea, Amy (Aaron) Gutzmann, and Jenna (Andy) Neu; and grandchildren Nickolaus, Joanna, and James Corniea; Gilbert, June, and Cecelia Gutzmann; and Olive and Ellie Neu.
