Patricia McGinnis Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jul. 11, 2011.
Patricia McGinnis left this world to enter into that of her heavenly Father on July 11, 2011, surrounded by her loving family. Pat was the youngest of five children born January 26, 1940, to George and Agnes Kilwine in Bozeman, Montana. She moved with her parents to California at the age of 16. While living in California she met the love of her life, Robert "Duff". They married on August 6, 1959 and started their new life together in Pasco. Pat was a wonderful person; she was fun to be around and had a great zest for life. She was a loyal wife and a loving, caring mother. She taught PE at St. Patrick's School for several years, and enjoyed watching her children and grandchildren play sports throughout the years. The family enjoyed camping and fishing while the children were young. Pat and Duff enjoyed traveling during their retirement years. (The most memorable being trips to visit Pat's many internet friends). She also enjoyed cross-stitch and other crafts, gardening, reading and playing games on the computer. Pat was a member of St. Patrick's Parish as well as a member of the church Altar Society and spent many years volunteering her time at the parish. Pat was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ronald and Tom and sister Jean. She is survived by husband Duff; son Tom and wife Jeanette; son Tim and wife Becky; daughter Tammara and husband Dave King; daughter Tina and husband Keith "Joe" Greenough. Grandchildren, Audrie Valenzuela; Kathryn and husband Luke Frietze; Tom McGinnis Jr.; Bryn and Aviana McGinnis; Janelle and Steven King; and Bryce and Ryan Greenough. Great Grandchildren; Mikah Valenzuela and Cornelia Frietze. Pat is also survived by her brother Don Kilwine; sister-in-law Lee Welch and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. There will be a vigil on Thursday, July 21, 2011 7pm at Mueller's Greenlee Funeral Home, 1608 W Court St. in Pasco. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 22, 11 am at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1320 W Henry, in Pasco, WA with committal and reception following. The family wishes to thank the offices of Dr. Kakumba, Dr. Ness, and Dr. Rege, KGH Oncology Dept., and Richland Rehab staff for the wonderful care given to our mother during her battle with cancer. Extra special thanks to friends and family who supported mom during her time of need. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Tri Cities Cancer Center or the American Cancer Society in her name. God Bless you Pat -- We will miss you and love you always!
