Patricia Carol Meade

Patricia Carol Meade, 71, of Marks Branch in Newtown, WV, passed away peacefully at her home on November 16, 2025. She was born on June 28, 1954, in South Williamson, KY, the daughter of the late Alfred and Anna West Thacker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Freddie Meade; her brother, Randy Thacker; and her sister, Teresa Thacker.
Patricia was a devoted homemaker who found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She loved reading, sharing laughter with loved ones, and welcoming everyone she met-she truly never knew a stranger. She was a faithful attendee of the Matewan Church of God, led by Pastor Billy Burgraff. Her cherished dog, Candy, held a very special place in her heart.
She is survived by her daughters, Lora Stratton and her husband David, and Maggie Crum and her husband Joey; her brothers, Larry (Connie) Thacker, Timmy (Brandi) Thacker, and Donnie (Barb) Thacker; and her sister, Tammy (Leslie) Bryant. Patricia also leaves behind her grandchildren, William (Veronica) Hatfield, Brandon (Jennifer) Hatfield, Allie Hatfield (Devvin Lester), Mariah Hatfield, Alfred (Bessie) Hammond, and Ryan Hammond; and her great-grandchildren, Beilia, Colton, Destiny, Andrea, Ava, Zoey, Mia, Elliott, and Oliver. She will be lovingly remembered by her special cousin, Eddie Blackburn, whom she cherished as a brother, and Jason Bryant, whom she loved as a son.
Funeral services will be held at Chafin Funeral Home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
