Patricia Lee Dickens Milam

Patricia L Dickens Milam, a lifetime resident of Raleigh County, has left to meet God and those who have gone before her. (She will be waiting for us.) She died Saturday, 27 September, in her home after a long illness, cared for daily by her daughter, Gina, and her dog and best friend, Jojo.

Born in Montcoal, WV, a daughter of the late Jesse J. Dickens and Hattie M. Price, she was a lifetime member of Arnett Chapel. Patricia is preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Milam, eleven siblings, nine brothers and two sisters, their spouses, and one great-grandchild. (She was the youngest child of twelve.)

Patricia is survived by her two children and their spouses; Ines and Thomas A. Milam Jr., and Gina and John Evans, of Beckley. She leaves 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, a very special daughter-in-law, Vicky R. Milam of Beckley, a nephew, Jerry Bawgus of Arnett, and a host of other very special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 3, 2025 at Arnett Chapel, Arnett, WV. Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Patricia will be laid to rest afterward at Sunset Memorial Park in Beckley. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

God bless one of the last great women of her era. She will be missed.
