Born to Rita and James Carney, Pat attended Kings Park High School and began working for Bell Atlantic (NYNEX) as an operator after graduation, following in her father's footsteps working at the phone company.
She married Jeremiah Mills and had sons Jeremiah in 1976 and Colin in 1985. Pat was a devoted daughter, sister, and mother, showing her selflessness through small acts of kindness and an inner strength that was unwavering. Even though she didn't like the spotlight, she had a beautiful smile and a ready laugh.
She was especially fond of all of her grandchildren, always going above and beyond in showing her love for them. Pat was also an animal lover, ocean enthusiast, avid reader, and lover of British television. She was predeceased by both her parents and her brother James. She will be sorely missed by her surviving family: Jeremiah (son), wife Kelly, and their sons Aidan, Liam, and Elias; Colin, wife Emma, and their daughter Fiona; and her sister Maureen Lynch, husband John Lynch, and niece Emily Fritch.
