Eugene Patrick Hogan passed away peacefully at home on February 5th, 2025 at the age of 88.
Eugene was born on November 30th 1936 in Brooklyn, New York, to Ruth June (Sullivan) and Patrick Dennis Hogan.
Eugene was a graduate of Kings Park High School and held degrees from Adelphi University and University of Long Island. He spent time in the Suffolk County Police Department and served honorably as a Capitan in the US Army. He enjoyed a career in nursing and hospital administration at Kings Park Psychiatric Center. Eugene loved to fish, hunt and camp. He was a self-taught carpenter who took pride in many DIY projects and home renovations.
Eldest of six children, he was a proud and loving older brother. He is proceeded in death by siblings Katie, Julia and Dennis and survived by Joseph and Patricia.
Survived by his adoring and loving wife of 40 years, Jean. They spent many wonderful years
traveling and having adventures around the world eventually moving in their retirement to Stuart,
Florida.
Devoted father of Anne Hogan, Ruth Garveson (Tom), Mary Alice Dowling (Kevin), Patrick Hogan (Mari), and Margaret Doyle (Seamus) and their mother Frances Hogan Finnell.
Proud grandfather to 24 grandchildren and great grandchildren and had many nieces, nephews and extended family.
Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend his services.
